Balmoral Hall School for Girls’ new Centre for Arts and Design

The centre provides space for creative, innovative and technological learning. Through a combination of LEED practices and identifying ongoing efficiencies through a collaborative approach, we came in under budget – and ahead of the original projected completion date. The centre is a testament to M Builds design-assist and construction management strengths. Originally a construction management contract, we assisted in the design when budget and constructability issues arose.

We solved structural and architectural concerns, utilizing past experience with key building components such as hollow core and insulated metal panels to overcome a missing link between structural requirements and thermal properties of the building envelope. The end result is a structurally sound addition with an energy-efficient building envelope and the look the client envisioned.
