Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex

Completed in February 2009, this state of the art facility includes a new 133-metre Olympic Indoor Track on the second floor complete with fitness and weight room areas, a new West End Library with over 6,000 square feet of accessible space, the original swimming pool with a 50-metre pool tank, the outdoor Susan Auch Speed Skating Oval, and a cafe.

The extensive renovation process was completed over a period of 14 months and incorporated a solar wall on the entire South face. The solar wall uses the sun’s energy to pre-heat ventilation air. A sustainable feature that will substantially reduce traditional heating fuel expenses.
