About the Project

The main entrance renovation for Grant Park Mall required the existing building exterior front entrance to be closed off to the public and removed. M builds’ safety team set up fencing and signage to advise shoppers of the work and direct them to secondary entrances. The new entrance required renovations to the old canopy entrance structural steel framing, new structural steel framing for lighting and architectural glass features.

A new masonry wall was constructed for support of the new canopy and for the Grant Park sign and existing masonry was revitalized. New aluminum and glass doors and windows and metal cladding were installed to the existing and new canopy. Site Works included new concrete sidewalks, new storm sewers, asphalt paving, safety bollards, modifications to upgrade site services, and lighting updates.

The Interior renovation scope included demolition of existing materials and construction and installation of new doors, gypsum walls and many very detailed architectural features on the ceiling including lightboxes were created. The flooring was removed and levelled and new carpet and ceramic tile flooring was installed. Electrical, mechanical plumbing and ventilation and life safety upgrades were made and reconfigured and existing infrastructure removed. Store upgrades and refits to Shoppers Drug Mart, Jerry Salon and Spa and Modern Man were also completed.
